RED LIGHT THERAPY
Red Therapy, commonly referred to as Red Light Therapy (RLT), is a treatment that uses low-wavelength red light to promote healing, reduce inflammation, and rejuvenate skin and muscles. It’s also known as photobiomodulation (PBM) or low-level laser therapy (LLLT).
At BOUDOIR Day Spa, we use the JOOVV SOLO 3, a medical-grade red light therapy device (Class II Medical Devisce) designed for safety and effectiveness.
JOOVV delivers two powerful spectrums of light:
Red Light (660nm) – Absorbed by surface tissues to enhance skin health and healing.
Near-Infrared Light (850nm) – Penetrates deeper to support recovery and reduce inflammation.

How It Works:
Red light penetrates the skin to a depth of about 5-10 millimeters. The light stimulates the mitochondria in your cells, enhancing energy production (ATP). This boost helps cells repair themselves more efficiently.

How to Use It:
Standard Treatment
A standard treatment utilizes both red and near infrared* light. Red and near infrared* can be used together or independently depending on your preference. A 10-minute treatment at 16-24 inches sitting or standing in front of your device is optimal. 15-20 minutes for symptomatic areas may be beneficial, but beyond that, the evidence points to diminishing returns (your cells can only absorb so much light at once). For this reason, we recommend you allow at least 6 hours between treatments of the same area.
Recovery+ Treatment
Recovery+ reduces the intensity of the standard treatment by pulsing the near infrared* light. Using this mode is ideal for recovery (eg. post workout, fatigue, etc). 10-20 minute treatments at 12-14 inches sitting or standing in front of your device is optimal.
Is It Safe?
Red Light Therapy is generally considered safe with minimal side effects. Some people might experience temporary redness or tightness in the treated area. However, you should avoid overexposure, and people with certain conditions (like photosensitivity) should consult a doctor first.

People with photosensitive skin conditions or on photosensitizing medications
Pregnant women (consult with a healthcare provider)
Those with a history of skin cancer should get medical advice first
